Froakie is a Water-type Pokemon introduced in Generation VI (Pokemon X and Y) as one of the three Kalos starter Pokemon. It evolves into Frogadier and then into Greninja, a Water/Dark-type ninja-like frog that became hugely popular; in the anime, Ash's Froakie evolved all the way to a special Ash-Greninja form.
ケロマツ (Keromatsu) is the Japanese name for the Pokemon known in English as Froakie. The name combines 'kero' (ケロ), the Japanese onomatopoeia for a frog's croak, with 'matsu' (沫), meaning bubbles or foam, reflecting its frog-like nature and the bubbly secretions on its chest and back.
