It is a fastidious creature that keeps its body and leaves immaculately clean, since dirt prevents the leaves from performing photosynthesis and gathering the energy it needs. Sleek and graceful, Servine moves by gliding smoothly through grass and can dazzle opponents by reflecting sunlight off its leaves before striking with vine-based attacks.

The Japanese name ジャノビー (Janobii) is generally understood to combine elements suggesting a snake—possibly from 蛇 (ja/hebi, meaning 'snake')—with sounds evoking growth or 'noble/ivy' qualities, fitting its sleek, regal serpentine design. The English name 'Servine' blends 'serpent' (snake) with 'vine,' reflecting both its snake body and its Grass-type, plant-like nature. Both names emphasize its identity as a refined, leafy serpent.
