History
Hippowdon is the Ground-type Heavyweight Pokémon, the evolved form of Hippopotas, modeled after a hippopotamus. Despite its bulky, lumbering appearance, it is short-tempered and aggressive, expelling sand stored within its body to create swirling sandstorms that overwhelm and demoralize opponents before it charges in. Its hide is built to retain sand, and males and females differ in coloration, making it a notably gender-dimorphic species introduced in the Sinnoh region.
