Delphox

Delphox is the final evolution of Fennekin, the Fire-type starter Pokémon introduced in Generation VI (Kalos region), and it gains the Psychic type upon evolving. Resembling a robed mage or witch, it wields a branch as a wand, gazing into the flames at its tip to glimpse the future and aid its Trainer. As described, it can call upon psychic power to conjure intensely hot vortexes of flame, making it both a mystical seer and a formidable battler.

The Japanese name マフォクシー (Mafokushī) is generally understood to combine elements suggesting magic—possibly from 'magic' or the witch-like 'majo' (魔女)—with the English word 'fox' (フォックス, fokkusu), reflecting its role as a mystical, sorcerer-like fox. The English name 'Delphox' merges 'Delphi' (evoking the Oracle of Delphi and prophecy/divination) with 'fox,' tying its psychic, fortune-telling imagery to its fox-based design.
