Minccino is the Chinchilla Pokémon, a small, gray, fluffy Normal-type introduced in Generation V (Black and White) in the Unova region. It is known for being meticulously clean, using its tufted tail like a broom to sweep away dust and dirt, and it greets others by petting them with its tail. Minccino evolves into Cinccino when exposed to a Shiny Stone, gaining an even more luxurious, scarf-like fur.

The Japanese name チラーミィ (Chillarmy) blends 「チラ」(chira), an onomatopoeic element suggesting fluttering or a quick glimpse, evoking the chinchilla's delicate movements, with the English word 'charming' (charm) reflecting its cute, endearing appeal. The English name 'Minccino' combines 'mini' (small) with a play on 'chinchilla,' the rodent it is based on, capturing both its tiny size and its furry inspiration.
