Shroomish

Shroomish is a Grass-type Mushroom Pokémon introduced in Generation III (Ruby and Sapphire), typically found dwelling in damp forests and amid fallen leaves. When threatened, it defends itself by scattering toxic spores from the top of its head, which are potent enough to wilt nearby plants and trees. Shroomish evolves into Breloom, gaining a fighting prowess that contrasts with its more passive, hiding nature.

The Japanese name キノココ (Kinococo) derives from キノコ (kinoko), meaning 'mushroom,' likely combined with a doubled 'ko' that evokes 'child' (子) or a cute diminutive sound, fitting its small, young appearance. The English name 'Shroomish' combines 'shroom' (a shortening of 'mushroom') with the suffix '-ish,' reinforcing its identity as a small, mushroom-like creature.
