History
Spinarak is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon resembling a small green spider, classified as the String Spit Pokémon. It spins webs from string emitted by its body and patiently waits at the center for prey to become ensnared, sensing vibrations through the threads. While the venom in its fangs is relatively weak, it is sufficient to weaken trapped prey, and Spinarak eventually evolves into Ariados.
Name & meaning
The Japanese name イトマル (Itomaru) combines 糸 (ito), meaning 'thread' or 'string,' with 丸 (maru), a common suffix meaning 'round' or 'ball,' also frequently used in Japanese names; together it evokes a round, thread-spinning creature.
